Macaroni and Cheese

From the back of the Mueller’s Elbow Macaroni box - 2012

Ingredients

12 oz Mueller’s elbow macaroni

6 T butter

4 T flour

1/8 t dry mustard

1/8 t salt

1/8 t black pepper

3 C milk

3 C (12 oz) sharp cheddar cheese, shredded

1 C croutons

Procedure

Cook elbow macaroni for 9 minutes. Drain, cover, set aside.

Preheat the oven to 350ºF. 

In a medium saucepan, melt butter, blend in flour, mustard, salt, and pepper.

Cook until mixture is smooth and bubbly, gradually add milk.

Cook and stir over medium heat until mixture boils, simmer 1 minute, stirring constantly.

Gradually mix in cheese. Stir over low heat until cheese is melted.

Add pasta, mix together lightly. Pour into 2 quart casserole.

Top with croutons. Bake 25 minutes.
