Jennifer's Tomato Sauce |
This sauce can be used with anything Italian. Pastas, Pizzas, Parmigiana, Anything |
Ingredients |
2 T Olive Oil |
1 large Onion - diced |
6 Garlic cloves - minced |
1 LB (450g) lean Ground Beef |
2 T dried Basil |
2 T dried Oregano |
64 oz (4Kg) canned peeled whole Tomatoes |
Salt and Pepper to taste |
Procedure |
In a large sauce pot heat oil, add onions and half sauté, add garlic and complete sauté. |
Add ground beef and spices and brown. Stir often. Don't allow garlic to burn. |
Add whole tomatoes and their liquid. Crush tomatoes thoroughly. |
Bring to a boil then reduce to a very low heat. |
Let simmer for at least six hours (the longer the better), stirring occasionally. |
Season to taste. |
